Dye Pharm encompasses work centered on where I live while combining multiple practices and interests including digital media, textile traditions, community based art, eco-art, gardening, plant technology & foraging. It is inspired by natural dyes relationship with natural medicine and chemical dyes precedent to industrialized medicine. Included in this project are camouflage patterns of medicinal plants, research on hacking printers and ink recipes to find a way to combine direct-to-garment printing with natural pigments, artwork that acts as bioremediation, dye gardens I have created in my community, and workshops that I teach out of my studio which are often free and funded by grants.
