Combining digital media and textile practices, my work often questions issues around technology. Much of this research has been in camouflage as a textile that embodies history, warfare, and invisibility. In the Dye Pharm project, I create textile patterns that reverses the intentions of camouflage to reveal hidden histories. This new series explores the concept of medicine and healthcare, and the divisions of natural vs chemical.  As natural dye carries a relationship with natural medicine, so does chemical dye have a precedent to industrialized medicine.  In addition to camouflage patterns of medicinal plants, I am also working on hacking printers and ink recipes to find a way to combine direct-to-garment printing with natural pigments.
